The deadline for registration of beneficial owners of income in the Central Register is the 8th of July 2018. The Law on the Central Record of beneficial owners of income published by the “Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, [no. 41/2018] stipulates the obligation to record the actual owners of the capital of legal entities and other entities – associations, foundations, endowments, etc.
The new obligation relates to:
- All companies, other than public joint stock companies;
- Cooperatives;
- Branches of foreign companies;
- All business associations and other associations (other than political parties, trade unions, sports organizations and associations, churches and religious communities);
- Foundations;
- Institutions;
- Representations of foreign companies, associations and foundations;
Persons defined by the current Law are obliged to determine the beneficial owner of income and obtain complete documentation regarding their ownership structure.
The central register of beneficial owners of income will be managed by the Business Registers Agency.
